What is Bowker imprint?
Adding A New Imprint: Click on the MyAccount > My Profile Data > My Company menu to add a new imprint under your Publisher or Company Name. An imprint is a trade name, or brand name, used by a publisher to identify a line of books or a publishing arm within the organization. You can have multiple imprints.
What is Title Status on Bowker?
Choose one status from the drop-down list to indicate the availability of the title in this geographic Market. Active Records are titles that are currently available for sale through a publisher, distributor, or wholesaler.
Why does Bowker have a monopoly on ISBN?
Every printed book, including Amazon Paperbacks, requires an ISBN. In the United States, purchasing an ISBN requires going through Bowker, the sole issuer of ISBNs in the country. All resellers must purchase from Bowker, and because Bowker is a monopoly, they charge a lot.

How do I get an ISBN and copyright?

Can I edit my ISBN information?
Click the “My Account” button in the main navigation to go to the MyIdentifiers Dashboard, where you can access your ISBNs and make changes to your title information by clicking the “Assign Title” button.

If you live in the United States, you must obtain an ISBN from myidentifiers.com, which is run by Bowker, the only company authorized to administer the ISBN program in the United States. ISBNs can be purchased individually or in bulk quantities of 10, 100, or 1000.
